Page numbers

We already saw an example of page numbering via fo:page-number in Figure 979, “Parameterizing header and footer. ”. Sometimes a different style for page numbering is desired. The default page numbering style may be changed by means of the fo:page-sequence element's attribute format. For a closer explanation the W3X XSLT standards documentation may be consulted:
